I wanted to switch up today’s post and bring a little bit of health-spo content to the blog! I haven’t really covered much about health and wellness on the blog but thought that this would be a fun way to switch things up!

So, today I’m going to be sharing three tips that I have that you can implement to live a healthier lifestyle. These aren’t crazy, earth shattering things but they will help you feel better overall.

Tip #1: Water, Water, Water!

When I don’t drink enough water I just don’t feel like myself! I find myself to be more irritable, tired and drowsy.

Every morning, I make myself an electrolyte water with fresh lemon juice, mint and pink himalayan salt. I drink this before I consume any coffee. It’s so important to re-hydrate yourself after you’ve been sleeping.

I just feel like it primes my body for the rest of the day – plus it tastes amazing. I’ve posted the recipe before, you can check it out here.

Pink Himalayan salt is one of the purest forms of salt on the planet – in some cases, it’s mined by hand!

It helps to balance your body’s pH because it’s so rich in minerals (balancing the pH levels in your body helps to encourage digestion).

Tip #2: Carving Out Time For Self Care

This is so, so, so important.

If you couldn’t tell from my blog where I have a whole section dedicated to self care – I am a self care addict. Carving out time devoted to doing something special for yourself is so important.

These can be little things such as: doing a face mask, taking a walk after a busy day at work, finding time to read a book or journaling.

When you make space for yourself, you can make space for others. But you can only serve others and be your best self if your cup is already full. There’s no sense in filling someone else’s cup on when yours is only half empty 🙂

Lately, I’ve been obsessing over Gua Sha and Jade Rolling. I do it in bed (and even do it to Billy, he loves it). But I get really bad tension headaches and I am not even exaggerating in the slightest when I say that both of these tools help to roll the tension right out of my face.

Tip #3: Getting Steps In Throughout The Day

Let’s face it – we’re living in a technology age where we’re always connected to a computer, phone or tablet. For the majority of us, we’re sitting down at our desks throughout the day, typing away on the computer.

Have you checked your step counter on your iPhone lately? I remember at my last job, I used to only get about 2-3,000 steps in per day (YIKES). Now, I aim to get 10,000 steps in!

This may involve getting up every hour from your desk and taking a lap around your office, or walking to go grab coffee. If you have to respond to emails, hop on the treadmill while responding to them! Walk on a steep incline at a lower speed and respond to your emails, listen to a podcast or watch an informative YouTube video.

There are ways that you can get creative when it comes to incorporating little hacks that make up an overall healthier life! 🙂
