3 Areas Of Life That I Need To Improve

Today’s post is going to be a little bit different – I’m going to be talking about three areas of life that need the most improvement.

Improvement Area #1: Physical Health

Aka I need to stop being a lazy turd and be more consistent with working out. I quite literally have no excuse since we have a gym right here at our apartment building, but I can’t bring myself to get there consistently.

I know that it’s not motivation that I’m lacking because that’s a fleeting emotion, it’s consistency that I’m lacking. I’m constantly breaking promises with myself when I say, “oh I’ll get to the gym tomorrow” and continue to push it off as the week progresses. Then it’s Friday and I’m beating myself up because I haven’t gotten to the gym.

Our physical health is the absolute most important aspect to our lives – without it, we aren’t able to show up every single day and do what we live or spend time with those we love.

SO, I’m going to put it out there that I will make it to the gym three times this week – I’m not going to go crazy and say that I’ll make it every single day. We’ve gotta start small, do little things each day that help us experience those “little wins” (like making your bed or putting your clothes away).

Improvement Area #2: Reading Habits

BOOKS! I love reading, learning and falling asleep to a good ‘ole paperback. But I’ve been neglecting this area of my life so much.

Because I commute every single day to my full-time job, I feel like I’m always listening to podcasts and learning that way. But nothing beats picking up a book and exercising your mind that way.

I’m really into personal development / business books so if you have any suggestions PLEASE shoot them my way!

Improvement Area #3: Being Proactive

Lately, I feel like so much is going on. The holidays, our move, balancing my 9-5 with the blog, events, yadda yadda yadda that I haven’t had time to be more proactive.

And by being proactive I mean, mapping out my weeks / days so that I’m strategically building towards something. Lately (like the past week), I feel like I’ve been chasing after everything one step behind.

However, today at work I got done a project that was supposed to be completed this coming Thursday – it felt so good to get it done and finished ahead of schedule!

Starting this Friday, I’ll have off until the end of the new year (January 2nd to be exact) so I’m going to have a lot of time to do planning, strategizing… I CANNOT WAIT!

Anyways, hope that you guys had an amazing day. I’m off to chug some more water and curl up with a book!

Talk tomorrow,

x,
Emily
