There is nothing that I love more than a date night here in Philly. This city has some of the best food and every time that I travel, I’m reminded of how good we’ve got it.
Last night, Billy and I went out to dinner with some friends. We went to Harper’s Garden, it’s the absolute cutest indoor / outdoor restaurant. It’s tucked away between 18th and Chestnut; if you’re not looking for it you’ll probably walk past it!
For the majority of restaurants here in the city, a classy yet casual look is the golden rule. Unless you’re going to a steakhouse like Del Frisco’s, you can throw on a pair of jeans, heels and a cute top.
3 Styling Tips For A Date Night Outfit
Date Night Outfit Tip #1: Jeans and Heels.
Last night, I wanted to be comfy while still looking cute! So, I added a pair of heels to the outfit. Typically, I’d wear my favorite white mules from Target. As you can see here, I’m wearing a pair of heels that I’ve had for forever.
When you add heels with something more casual, like jeans, it makes you look more dressed up.
Date Night Outfit Tip #2: Get Creative
I love this topic. Seriously, it’s one of my favorites when it comes to fashion and styling outfits! Why? Because it helps you shop within your closet
Can you believe that this “jacket” that I’m wearing is actually a crop top! If you check out my blog post about how to style a pinafore dress, you’ll see that I’m wearing it as it’s supposed to be styled: as a crop top!
It zippers in the back and has a strong neck, so flipping it around and having the zipper in the front easily turns this crop top into a jacket!
So, next time that you are thinking to yourself, “I have nothing to wear!” think again! Is there something in your closet that could be worn inside out? Maybe it has a different, unique pattern on the inside.
You are going to have to get creative!
Date Night Outfit Tip #3: Accessories Make An Outfit
If you’ve been following the City of Sisterly Love for a while, then you know that I love to accessorize! I mean, what girl doesn’t?
As you may know, my absolute favorite accessories and jewelry pieces are from Lovoda. If you want to see more accessories from them check out these blog posts: here and here.
But, getting back to the styling top – accessories make an outfit. Layering on necklaces and earrings as well as bracelets help to add interest to your outfit. It draws people’s eyes all around your look as opposed to just one part of it!
Remember: Your style is just that… It’s yours!
Wear what you feel comfortable in. Because at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that you feel comfortable!
