How To Style A Tweed Skirt | Fall 2018

IMG_3383

Tweed – not your average texture or print! It’s one of this season’s hottest come backs.

I remember years ago, someone once said to me… Keep your old items because you never know when they’re gonna come back in style. Well, isn’t that the truth?! Who in a million years would have ever thought that this print would come back in style?!

When you think of tweed perhaps you think of your grandma’s sport coat or a retro 70’s outfit – well, this pattern is back for fall + winter. Today on the City of Sisterly Love, I’m going to show you how to style one of this season’s most popular trends!

SHOP THE POST

Skirt: Forever 21 | Top: Missguided | Scarf: Lovoda | Necklace: Lovoda

You can go for a full on tweed outfit – you know, skirt, jacket + all. I decided to keep this look fairly casual.

For me, I like to pick a few pieces of the outfit that stand out and keep the rest fairly neutral / lowkey. For this outfit, the scarf is the big staple. This one from Lovoda is what I like to call a bold neutral – it incorporates bold + beautiful colors in a quite subtle way.

The skirt doesn’t just sit in the background though – it’s here to play! It has pale gold reflects / glitter than run throughout it. I’m completely obsessed with this skirt + can’t wait to wear it all fall long.

Once it get’s a little bit more cold out, you an throw a pair of tights on underneath of it to keep you warm.

For the top, I kept it fairly neutral and went with a white off the shoulder top that has ruffles around the hem. Because the scarf and skirt make such a statement – you don’t want to take away from either of them.

Tweed Skirts I’m Loving

Don’t think that you can’t pull off two different patterns.

Plaid matches just about everything. And tweed? Well, you really can’t go wrong with a simple white top to pair with it!

Hope that you all enjoyed this fun, fall style! I absolutely love bringing you guys style posts on the City of Sisterly Love!

Talk tomorrow,

XO,

Emily
