Let’s take a quick second to talk about productivity.
Here’s a look into my everyday life:
Sits down at computer.
Remembers that I wanted to Google why I have this weird dry patch of skin on my stomach.
Googles, “Why do I have a dry patch of skin on my stomach”
Gets a text message, reads it.
Forgets to answer text message after “answering it in my head”
Opens a new tab, searches for those insanely cute espadrille wedges I’ve been looking for.
CTRL + T: opens ANOTHER tab, looks up the weather for this weekend.
New email notification pops up on computer.
Turns on podcast.
Ugh, volume too low… Turns up volume.
Completes task from email.
Looks up puppies for sale on google.
You see what I’m getting at, people? I’m s c a t t e r b r a i n e d. I like to think of myself as a multitasker. I can do many things at once, but it’s hard for me to focus on one thing at a time.
So, I was in one of my twenty-tabs-open-lets-google-everything-and-get-stuck-in-a-deep-dark-part-of-the-interwebs moments. I stumbled across this Google Chrome extension called: Momentum.
It’s changed my life.
First of all, it’s a big giant clock that helps you time block your work. It helps you organize your tasks and keep you on track.
I personally love the to-do list in the bottom right corner.
This thing keeps me on track. I’m the type of person where if I don’t write something down + am constantly looking at it, I’ll completely forget to do it.
At work, I have two monitors so I’ve been keeping Momentum up on one screen and working off of the other.
I’m obsessed and just had to share this with you all. If you don’t have two monitors at work, you can keep Momentum up as the first tab and keep going back to it throughout your day.
