I’m five months in y’all – five months in on my Play! By Sephora beauty subscription box.

The first month that I did it was March (my birthday month) and wanted to treat myself to something extra special.

Well, we’re five months in and I still haven’t pulled the plug because it’s that good. At the time, I was subscribed to IPSY, the first subscription service that I ever did.  A few months ago I decided to cancel it because of how much I was loving the Play! box, and how starkly different the IPSY bag was. I found myself getting excess makeup brushes and random skincare items that I wasn’t into.

Play! By Sephora is a $10 monthly subscription service that brings the best of the best beauty and skincare products to your mailbox every 30 days. I’m obsessed. Your 5-6 items come packaged in an-always-chic-always-cute tie bag. I save all of them and find them so useful to travel (I put necklaces, creams, soaps, everything in them… very big on organizing the goods).

What I love so much is that everything they send is a prestige brand – high end products in travel/trial sizes for only TEN DOLLARS A MONTH. They also give you a sample designer fragrance each month, ugh winning! I’ve had everything from Marc Jacobs & YSL mascaras to Makeup Forever foundations. This bag is the real deal. It allows me to try out five to six new products each month + see what I like.

What I Got This Month

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty (Originally $29)… I love these blushes! I have one of them in a different shade and find them to be super long wearing with a great color payoff. They last a full 12 hours and the pigment is no joke. This shade is dusty rose – perfect for summer/fall transition. Eeeek, so excited for fall! Anyways, this was a full sized blush, originally $29 and I got it in my Play! bag for less than $10 (when you equal it all out).

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (Originally $26 for the full size)… Obviously this one wasn’t the full size, but it’s a pretty decent trial size. I haven’t tried anything from Bite Beauty yet so I’m super intrigued. A lip mask? Seems right up my alley – I smother my lips in vaseline all day everyday. Seriously, my fingers always diggin’ around in that tube for the last drops of the good good. Can’t wait to try this out – I’ll let y’all know what I think!

Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer… Okay but how cute is this packaging?! I’ve never tried Farmacy before, but I’ve heard such good things. This is a lightweight moisturizer – something that I’m always on the hunt for in these summer months. I just love how the Play! bag gives you such a good mix of beauty + skincare items.

Caudalie Brightening Essence… So, I’m a huge fan of essence’s. If you don’t know what they are, basically they originated in K-Beauty (or Korean Skincare).  An essence is a highly concentrated liquid, similar to water in consistency, that delivers anti aging remedies to the skin. It’s applied during the insane 7 Step Process in Korean Skincare.  This one contains glycolic acid + helps to brighten the skin and fade dark spots. Super excited to try as you all know I’m trying to avoid the sun like the plague and fade dark spots / sun spots! I’ll report back.

+ Ren Skincare Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask… Um, winning. I’m obsessed with masks – they’re the holy grail key to my sanity. LOL, all kidding aside, these are an integral part to my skincare routine. This one, by Ren Skincare, is for redness and uneven skin tone. It’s supposed to be soothing and calming (hence the name). Deff the perfect mask for a sunday night. Can’t wait to try!

Briogeo Blossom + Bloom Biotin Volumizing Shampoo… I’m always on the hunt for new shampoos. As someone who has color treated their hair for years, finding the perfect one is a balancing act. It can’t be too drying on my hair, but it also can’t be too soft and not get all of the grease out (because, HELLO, I only wash it once a week… it’s gotta get all the dirt out, lol).

I’m just such a fan of the Play! by Sephora bag – it gives you amazing products at a ridiculous price.

You can always try it out for a month and see how you like it. For me, it’s just a little #SelfCare added bonus each month. It’s like giving yourself a present every 30 days, LOL!

Talk to you tomorrow,

XO.
