FACE (Higlighter + Blush)

I’ll admit it… I’m a highlighter junkie, I just think that they bring so much life to my face because I generally keep the rest of my makeup pretty matte. When looking for a new highlighter there are some key things that I look for: long lasting, smooth shimmer not chunky glitter, + pigmentation. The Gimme More! Highlighter Palette comes with 6 different shades:

Extra: Pale Gold
Upgrade: Baby Pink
Bottomless: Tangerine With Gold Undertones
Full Service: Pink With Gold Undertones
Bigger and Better: Champagne
Total Package: Metallic Rose Gold

As you can see from the photo above, the initial color pay of these babies is GOOD. I swear, I only lightly dusted the pans with my finger! However, when I went to try them out on my forearm they definitely weren’t as pigmented as I was hoping for—they lost a little bit of their integrity. Nonethelesss, the colors in the palette are all super unique—I love the Bottomless, the tangerine color and Total Package, the metallic rose gold. Both colors are extremely unique, + unlike anything that I’ve seen! I will say, when I received this palette + took it out of the packaging I was a little unsure of how the quality was going to be. The bottom left shade, Full Service, looked like it was cracked at the top of the pan. Luckily, it wasn’t—it’s probably just the way that it was pressed by the machine.

I used Total Package on-top of Glass Slipper blush + love how it turned out! The colors compliment each other well because they’re both deep, plummy shades. While this palette doesn’t compare to some of my other favorites like the Becca Highlighters or Mac Highlighters—I still give the Gimme More! palette two thumbs up. You can’t beat the price of it OR the color variety. The payoff is good—not great—but it gets the job done!

As far as the blush goes, I’m INLOVE with both Glass SlipperRom Com—the color pay off is just as good as any NARS or Tarte blush. You seriously only need one or two dips into the pan to get tons of color pay off. These blushes are only $8.00 ($6.40 on sale), + I would happily pay double or triple—they’re THAT good! To me, blush is one of those things that you don’t need to splurge on. As long as they’re long wearing + have good color pay off, they’re a win in my book. Additionally, I believe that it’s the foundation under your blushes, bronzers + highlighters that REALLY make the difference when you want your makeup to last all day.

Let me preface this by saying that when it comes to lip products—I’m probably the least high maintenance person you’ll meet. I rarely ever do anything with my lips, except smother them in Vaseline or Chapstick. Every now + then, I’ll put some gloss on (my favorites are the Buxom Full On Lip Polishes!) but for the most part, I keep it lowkey.

I’ve experimented with Matte Liquid Lips before, + always end up quickly wiping them off because I think that they look too harsh on me. So I was excited to give them another try—I got the Times Square Ultra Matte Lip + the 951 Ultra Satin Lip (Seen 2nd + 3rd from the top in the photo above). I’m happy to report that I didn’t run to the bathroom screaming after I put them on, both colors are pretty neutral. I first applied 951, and then layered Times Square on top—this gave me the perfect nude-ish lip with a pink undertone.

The best part is… THEY DIDN’T DRY OUT MY LIPS! Which is something that makes me terrified of Matte Liquid Lips—I never want them to look wrinkly and gross. Some liquid lips that I’ve tried in the past have made it look like I haven’t drank water in like 5 days. It’s safe to say that I’ll definitely be purchasing more of these. I want to try out more berry colors and deeper pinks (I avoid nudey-nudes at all costs, I think they make me look like I’m dead, lol)

The Ultra Glossy Lip Glosses are amazing—not too thin, but not too thick. There’s nothing worse than applying a lip gloss that makes you feel like you’re back in kindergarten + just ate a stick of glue (c’mon, I can’t be the only 5 year old that did that). But seriously, I want to feel like I just applied the smoothest, creamiest gloss EVER, not glue my mouth shut. Although, some people may be happy about that. So these are definitely a win in my book—I tried both of them on individually, and then mixed the two together + that’s definitely how I think I’ll be wearing them. Tight Fit (4th from the top in the picture above) is a little too nude for me—again, I wanna look cute not like a zombie—so mixing it with Fairy Floss (bottom shade in the picture above) is the way to go.

As for the Lippie Stix… All I can say is that you HAVE to try them out. If you’re a lipstick fan, these will quickly become your go-to. They’re so smooth and so creamy with great color pay off. I’m not too sure about the longevity of them, so I’ll let you guys know how I feel about them once I wear it for a full day.

All in all… It’s safe to say that I’m obsessed. The quality is so good that I’m shocked that they’re as affordable as they are. Beauty + experimenting doesn’t have to be expensive, + ColourPop makes it that much easier to try new things out. I’m currently on their website again, ordering more stuff + FYI, they’re having tons of great deals right now. Your whole order ships free, as long as it’s over $30 (c’mon, who really wants to pay for shipping).

Have you guys tried any ColourPop products that you think I should try out? Let me know!

I’ve actually had the opposite experience with the ColourPop matte lip creams. They do dry out my lips, which is something I don’t like about them. As for their other products though, I really like their highlighters and eyeshadows.

That’s so interesting! The Satin Matte formula is definitely less drying than the typical Matte Formula! Try that one out, it’s the same “finish” but it just doesn’t dry your lips out as much.

I do have one of those, and I agree they’re less drying. They just need to improve the matte formula, I think.
